Karl has a broad range of experience in providing strategy and policy advice on transport, infrastructure, environment and land-use planning policy. He has managed complex research and policy projects involving multiple partners across the public, private, and academic sectors in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Karl has completed research, policy, and strategy projects on urban planning for low-carbon growth, the economics of climate change adaptation for cities, urban innovation and economic development policy, and financing innovations for urban infrastructure. Most recently, Karl worked as a project manager at the Future Cities Catapult, the United Kingdom government’s innovation centre for the built environment sector.
Karl has skills in project management, policy analysis, stakeholder and relationship management, qualitative research methods, and communications. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Victoria University of Wellington and a Master of Science in City Design and Social Science from the London School of Economics.
